About the game

What ages is it for?
4 and up. Junior mode (simpler rules) is built for 4โ€“6. Full rules shine for 5โ€“10. Grown-ups have way more fun than they admit.
How many players?
2 to 5 players. Or 1 (see Solo + Travel mode below).
How long does a game take?
2 minutes to learn. 15 minutes to play. Just long enough to beat some Grumps, short enough to play three in a row.
What's in the box?
54 cards: 32 Squad cards (8 per habit โ€” Mind, Food, Move, Learn), 12 Action cards, 10 Grumps. That's it. No dice, no tokens.
What are the 4 habits?
Mind (Lulu), Food (Clover), Move (Dash), Learn (Pip). Four pillars, four squirrels, four colors. Each habit has 8 cards.
Why do we shout "NOOOO!"?
It's the rule. It's also the funniest thing a 4-year-old does all day.

Mechanics

What's the NOOOO Race?
Whenever a Grump card flips up, every player races to slap the card and yell "NOOOO!" Fastest slapper takes a Peek โ€” looks at the top 2 cards of the deck and rearranges them. Slap by mistake? Discard one card. Even flinching counts.
What's the Howl?
Three of the ten Grumps wear a Howl badge โ€” the Bosses (Sugar Slime, Lazoid, Distraction Djinn). When one of them flips up, the NOOOO Race fires AND every leftover Grump in the Zone gets shuffled back into the top of the deck. The threats you ignored come back at you.
How do you beat a Grump?
Each Grump shows a weakness color (or two). Play a matching Squad card from your hand. Single-color Grumps need one card. Bosses (the Howl Grumps) need two โ€” one of each color, same turn. Take the Grump as a trophy. First to 4 trophies wins.
What's a Bonus Action?
10 of the 32 Squad cards have a yellow โšก ribbon. When you play one, do the silly thing on the card โ€” flex, hop, yawn, say something nice. Required. Loud is encouraged.

Modes

Can my 4-year-old play?
Yes. Use Junior mode. The Howl is off. False slaps are forgiven. Win at 3 trophies (shorter game). Same Squad. Smaller stakes.
What's the difference between Standard and Junior?
Junior turns off the Boss-Grump Howl, forgives false slaps ("oops, my bad"), and shortens the game to first-to-3. Standard runs the full mechanics for ages 5+.
Can I play solo?
Yes โ€” Solo + Travel mode. One player vs the deck. NOOOO Race off (whisper noooo if you must). Howl on โ€” reshuffle still triggers. Win by beating 5 Grumps before the deck runs out. Lose if 3 Grumps stack up in the Zone.
Why is it called Solo + Travel mode?
Same rules, same deck, fits in a pocket. Plays on a plane, in a car, in a tent, in a waiting room. One player, one deck, no shouting.

Can I cancel my reservation?
Yes. Email us any time before the campaign launches and we'll refund the $1. No hoops, no guilt trip.

Edge cases

What happens if we forget a rule?
"Do what all great heroes do โ€” make something up and keep playing." That's literally in the rules.
Two players slap at the exact same time?
Tied slap โ†’ Peek goes to whichever tied player is closer to the next-to-act player (clockwise tiebreaker). Stop the argument, keep playing.
What if the deck runs out?
Game ends. Most trophies wins. (Solo + Travel: you survived the deck โ€” that's a different kind of win.)
Is this educational?
It's a game first. The healthy habits sneak in. Designed in consultation with pediatric wellness advisors.
